LJ Monday?

Post by Amphibious »

Unfortunately, not going to be able to join the fun today (Sun) - but wondering if anyone is interested in a LJ run on Monday if weather looks fair and river is ~8 ft or lower.

Who's in for the lower at 5:30 tomorrow?
Remember the river will be around 7.5 feet.

I'm interested. I've only done the LJ once. Level was at 5.8.It was fun and I felt perfectly in control. I'm a newbie, 1st season paddling, I have a roll in my creek boat and play boat although it isn't always reliable. How much more difficult is the LJ at this level or 8-9ft? I've completed the whitewater course with Greg Velzy at Chesterfield county.
I'm really interested in getting out there this week and today seems like the best shot.
Let me know if you're willing to have me tag along.

Josh,

The river has a lot more push. I personally would suggest a few more runs at 5.8 - 6 ft before jumping to 8-9.
The line at flipper and stripper gets a bit narrow...

I too am not sure what I am going to do.

Sejal, I'd like to paddle today. I can probably do 545pm.

not a problem. I will hold off for today. I would rather be safe and have fun rather then putting you guys in a sticky situation and then you never invite me back out again. thanks for the info.
