The Club has reserved the campground’s pavilion but you need to make your own camping reservations (with only a few exceptions, the Triple K will be closed this weekend). Currently, there are several sites on hold near the pavilion but you need to make your reservation soon if we are going to hold these spots. Tell them you are with the Coastals and camping should be about $12/person/night.
There are several events lined up for Saturday. In the morning, there will be a pancake breakfast starting at 8:30 with as many ingredients as possible purchased locally to support the communities in which we boat. The breakfast is free but is only available to paid dues members .
Saturday evening, the guys from AMONGSTIT.TV will be at [s]the campground pavilion[/s] Wilderness Voyagers in Ohiopyle to show their films “No Man’s Land” and “Canoe Movie 2”. These films are free for all to attend.

Check out the Coastals Movie Premier Announcement HERE
“No Man’s Land” features the whitewater of Virginia's Roanoke Valley and specifically John’s Creek.

Hope you decide to come.
No Man’s Land:
Uniquely located between the Allegheny Mountains and the Blue Ridge Plateau of Virginia…the Roanoke Valley is surrounded by both world class whitewater and controversial access issues. ‘No Man’s Land’ is the definitive film documenting the struggles surrounding John’s Creek, the subject of an ongoing legal dispute between local landowners and whitewater enthusiasts. After visiting John's, the documentary then takes the viewer on a wild ride into the beauty and danger that defines Virginia’s most notorious gorge, Jewell Creek.
'No Man's Land' is part of a short film series called "Watersheds" which aims to not only highlight some of the finest river systems we enjoy, but to also dig deeper into why whitewater has formed in them. For more on this series of films, visit AMONGSTIT.COM .
As mentioned above, below is a heads up to those of you planning to paddle the Upper Yough on Saturday that “Friendsville Days” is also that day.
Below is all I know:
Wilderness Voyagers wrote: Race Day Parking & Town Parade: The Town of Friendsville is having it's "Friendsville Day's" festivities on the same day as the Upper Yough Race. In fact a parade float line up is taking the whole North side of the road where Boaters Park, parade set to run at Noon. The Town is going to have an early one day only opening of the new parking area, on the grassy field to the South side of the normal boater parking area. Please enter Town on the West side since down town will be closed to traffic around 11:45pm, you will be directed to enter the new parking area right next to the Liquor store. Please DO NOT drive down Water street to access the parking. We even want you to Take Out under the Big Rout 68 Bridge and walk over to the parking area behind the Methodist Church. This is a one time use only to solve the problem of two big activities going on at the same time. The Town is working diligently to get the new parking area open permanently, please be patient. Also, the Friendsville Days festivities at the Town Park includes FOOD and entertainment. There is a great little Thai food vendor who comes here every year along with the wholesome local offerings. Thank you and please have a great race day!
