James River Level - High Water
The water has made it to Scottsville (1/2 way between I81 and Richmond). The 6/27 8:51 a.m. reading shot strait up to 16.71ft. The water should get to Richmond late today early Wednesday and will be primed for Wednesday afternoon paddling. You-all be carefully out there, lots of wood and stuff will be in the water.

I will be out Wednesday for sure (after 5). Hopefully playing at Z-Dam (high water 12ft and up). Bring your camera and boat as you need to be on river left for good pictures. FYI there is also a nice green water line about 10ft from the bank (river left), its not dangerous in that area.julesagogo wrote:If anyone goes out to run the James Wednesday or Thursday after 5pm, please let me know and I'll bring my camera.
Of course for the others reading this you need to have good boat control and a good roll to be on the river at this level.

FYI, my favorite level on the Upper James is 14ft. Z-Dam is fantastic on river left. Hawaii-5-O is in, river left by Powhite ledges. 10 boat is great but hard to paddle back into. Then there is a ton of play in the Mitchell?s gut area.
I think the most dangious area is below 10 boat hole by the train track pylons. The eddies below the pylons would be hard to get out of; I just stay away from them.

Ok I think the water has made it to Cartersville. Get ready; here is a picture of me way back in January 2005 at Z-Dam at 14.5ft.

"Some chick," eh? Well, at least we know who's being honest vs. who's just being nice because she just met you.Dave of the Angry Hair wrote:Well, I was told I looked like I was in my mid to late TWENTIES (SSSSSNAP!). That's a heck of a lot better than the last time some chick guessed my age. So who knows?julesagogo wrote:So...E wasn't as impressed with your do as I was?
