OCT Sat May 17 North Anna River

Plans are to paddle the North Anna River from Rt 601 (Butler Ford Bridge) to Rt 1 (Carmel Church). This river is north of Richmond near Carmel Church I-95 exit. Very scenic and hard to catch due to water being held in Lake Anna and no recreational releases. Most rapids are low class II, with exception of a long rock garden (class II+) and the falls (class III - can be portaged). Plan is to meet at 10:30 a.m. at the Rt 1 take-out. S Anna will be back up if Dominion decides to cut off the water on the N Anna. Please let me know by Friday at noon if you are planning to come with us.

Jenny, thanks for coordinating this trip! Lee and I will join you. The takeout is on the southeast side of the rt 1 bridge?
