Walker Creek above Bane

Let us know how it went! Swim confessions and carnage reports are welcome, but it's not fair to tell on your buddies!

Walker Creek above Bane

Post by BRIC »

Mike Buckley K-1 and Charlie Whittle OC-1 did a trip from the Little Walker Creek crossing of Rt 100 to the low water bridge upstream from Farley Wayside. This included a mile of class 2 rock garden on Little Walker and 7+ miles on Big Walker. Level at 1260cfs. PFD for both paddlers on both rivers.
The first mile could be done separately and additional laps added.
Scenic run on Big Walker.
At this level, the low water bridge takeout was completely submerged and created a river-wide hydraulic. A small eddy conveniently located right side for takeout. We exited via the eddy one boat at a time. Scout when setting shuttle.

Thanks for the report. I don't like the sound of that submerged low water bridge.
