FULL Again: We have room at our Summer Gathering Campsite!

Post by Elanor325 »

7/30 Update: We had a camper drop. :-) Probably room for a couple more tents. :)

7/27 UPDATE: I'm marking this site full, mostly because of parking. There are 11 of us so far, but 3-4 people have pop-ups or campers, which will likely take up double parking. Please note that this is a walk-in tent site and that if you have a camper that we'll essentially be camping on top of each other in the small parking area near the tent sites. We may need to block each other in and you may need to be able to move your rig. Be prepared to be flexible and creative. If you have a camper and need to really set it up and spread out, it is recommended that you get a site more suitable to campers.

I booked a Group site at Brenner Campground Aug 6-8 for the Summer Gathering. Parking is "a gravel strip" near the site. and we claim dibs on the best parking spot for our giant van! Booker's rights! ;-) The site has walk-in space for ~9 medium tents, ~15-20 people. It has 2-3 picnic tables and one power outlet. You have to walk for water and the bathhouse.

It has a $50 base rate, plus $7 per person, per night. I put down the base rate and paid for our group of 3. So, $10 per night to join us, if you don't mind throwing in a bit for the base rate.

If the group is big enough and there is interest, there is a Pavilion we can discuss renting. The kid I talked to didn't have info on price and availability though and I have no idea where it is in relation to site 509. He said I'd need to talk to his manager.

Let me know if you'd like to join us as camp!

I can sign up for Fri and Sat nights - one camper - one tent.

Is very small and I have been able to fit it in the woods at Benner’s before. Hopefully I won’t need to park it in a car spot.

7/30 Update: We had someone drop out and Patrick thinks be can weasel his little pop-up into the woods (I think this could be interesting as Google maps make it look like there's a wall of barrier rocks, but I'm up for a teambuilding adventure, lol. :-)

Probably room for a couple more tents. Tents and car campers preferred to towable campers as this is a Walk-in Tent site without a good place for towable campers.

Going to try a different option for my trailer

Sounds like Benner’s may not work after all. And I’ve been in their wetter baggier spots before which is no picnic. Booked a spot at the Outflow campground in Confluence. See you on Saturday morning - Grassy Knoll at 11? Are we running shuttle then or will some folks already have dropped off?

Sounds good Patrick, I'll SYOTR.

Hi Brenner Campers (+Bill S & Ken). Right now we have 9 Tents, 1 Van and 1 Camper and a total of 10 people. People are Me, Chris, Mark H, Mason, Peter, Suprio, Charles +1, Bill Cap +1, Courtney +1. Please confirm the nights you are staying and number of people as I'll be pre-paying and getting the gate codes for everyone. Please bring $10 cash per person, per night.
We're at site 509. Chris and I are leaving Friday morning and will likely be there by Friday mid-afternoon, but we might also go out to paddle or adventure so we may or may not be there when you arrive.

I included everyone on a Facebook Messenger thread and that is likely the easiest way for me to communicate with everyone. However, if that doesn't work for you, please email me. A phone # and email address might also be helpful for last minute communications.

Bill Cap: Please note that I'm not sure how camper friendly the site is as it's a walk-in tent site. We're happy to be creative, as long as you are. Please confirm your plans and the best non-forum way to contact you. ;-)

Brenner Campers,

Ken sent out an email last night with some preliminary paddle logistics for the Lower Yough. If you did not get this, then he either doesn’t know you are coming or he doesn’t know your contact info and you need to contact him ASAP so he includes you in his permit count. His trip details and contact info are on the Forum in a Post about the Lower Yough.

Same thing for the Middle Yough. If you plan on joining that trip, make sure you have connected with the trip leader.

I’m still trying to get the campsite to answer the phone, but will post or email campsite check-in instructions when I know them.

SYOTR,

Abbie
