OCT - Balcony Falls - November 4, 2017

The Balcony Falls trip is coming up! Let's meet at the Snowden boat ramp in Big Island, VA at 10:30 AM on the 4th. A google search will show it on a map if you have not been there. I would like to do the boat shuffle and head to the put-in by 11 with a goal of being on the water at 11:30.

We are still too far out to anticipate the water level, but it's generally fun at all levels (but a little boney below 2.5'!). There are several good surf/play spots so I will be in a playboat. I would like to lallygag down playing at every feature I can. If some of the group wants to split up and paddle faster, that's okay too.

Pack a lunch and we will stop at Balcony Falls for a pit stop.

This river rates at a class II+. Novice and intermediate paddlers are welcome to attend. If you're new, let me know and I can show you the lines.

The put-in location is called Locher Landing in Glasgow, VA. A Google search can get you an address and directions. If that doesn't pop up for you, contact me and I can help.

We will be meeting at Snowden Boat Ramp at 10:30 then driving to Locher Landing at 11ish with the intention of being on the water around 11:30. If you're running late, don't bother driving to Snowden, just meet in Glasgow.

I would like to join you on Saturday. I was hoping the flow would hold a bit higher. I haven't caught Balcony around 2000 cfs all summer.
