OCT - 41st Annual Lower Yough 10/27,28-29

Post by Dave »

Come join the longest consecutive running Coastals Trip. Enjoy the beautiful western PA mountains.

The 41st Annual Bill Gordon Lower Yough trip will be October 27 through 29th. We will meet Saturday morning at 10:00 at the put-in (AKA 'The Grassy Knoll') in Ohiopyle.

It may be cold, so please dress accordingly. The Yough runs free until spring so launch tickets and shuttle tokens will not be necessary.

Please let me know if you are planning on attending. You may email, call (contact info in the roster) or send a message via the message board.

Please come willing to help with shuttle rather than doing your own thing. Be courteous of everyone on the trip.

Wallace has contacted Tall Oaks, see below. (thanks Dave!)

If you are interested in paddling (loop or whole river) Friday send me an email or personal message me by 10/18 & lets see if we can come up with a plan that fits most everyone.

I paddled with Dave this weekend. He asked that I check with Tall Oaks CG about a group site, so I did. The upper pavilion is available. It’s $14/person/night. I booked it for Friday and Saturday nights. You’re all welcome.

Mangles are planning on attending for Saturday & Sunday.
We'll be at Tall Oaks Friday Night.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming....WOW What a ride! . . . . . Trying to live up to this, Priceless. As long as you have good insurance!

I'm in on running the river Saturday and Sunday. I've run it three times this fall, so I know the drill and am happy to help with the trip in anyway thats needed. Count me in for camping friday and saturday night and let me know what all is needed for that.

Ken & I are planning on it (@ least Fri/Sat), tho likely motel-ing it.

On Friday, are you mtg @ the P/I @ 1pm to then set shuttle?

thanks for keeping the tradition going!

Apologies, I had my dates mixed up and am volunteering at an event in Charlottesville next weekend, and will be thus unable to attend.
