Buchanan to Alpine on James

Post by Stan Heatwole »

I plan to be there with my canoe trailer so it can be used for shuttle. As I relayed to Bill by phone some friends from the Augusta Bird Club will be coming along. Weather forecast looks good.

Weather is forecast to be sunny and mid 60s, water I think is low 60s, but I can't find a gage with temperature closer than Cartersville.

The water level is (today) at about 660 cfs (2 feet) and ever so slowly dropping. This is low but still plenty of water for this section, and a little bit above the 37 year median for this time of year.

So far, we've got between 16 and 25 people depnding on the friends coming along.

Cell service in Buchanan and the river valley to the take out is spotty. I'll check email, the group, and my phone around 8 AM Saturday morning for any new posts. If you haven't sung out and want to go I'd love it if you give me a shout, but if you just show up that is fine.

SYOTR!
