New River Gorge 8/22 (and 23?)
Let's get enGORGED! Gromit and I plan to leave our house Saturday morning 8/22 in time to meet whoever else is coming at Fayette Station around noon to set shuttle. If there's enough interest in paddling again Sunday, then we'll camp at Ray's. If not, we'll come on home. If you're interested in staying with us Friday night, you're welcome, but get your reservation in early.

Based on email traffic, this is going to be a big group. Just giving y'all a heads up. I have emails from 6 boaters from RVA who are coming. Don't worry, we'll break it down on the river.
To streamline Saturday evening's activities, since we're such a large group, I'd like to suggest we get a look at the menu and order take out to have at Ray's. Some can pick up the pizza while others unwind shuttle. We should have a better beer selection in our coolers than they have at the restaurant, and we won't have to wait to be seated.

Mangles will be attending and bringing Stanley for his first trip to WV.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming....WOW What a ride! . . . . . Trying to live up to this, Priceless. As long as you have good insurance!

OK! The group has topped 20! WOW! We will definitely need to break it up some on the river. Also, I've lost track of how many email threads I'm in. So, please check here for any further info. It might be a smart move to get to Rays early Saturday morning and get your tent set up before we meet. I'm still aiming for a noon target to set shuttle, so give yourself some time. If you need to reach me, try 757 871 5781. But, PLEASE NO MORE EMAILS!!! See yous Saturday.
