Kudos to Dave Kessmann who's vision & persistence led to the selection of location & dates. There were more paddling choices than any other club gathering that I have attended. Good people, good food & good times

Thanks to Silent Bob for coordinating a trip to the Dry Fork on Friday. Level was near the AW minimum, but scenery was great and one hole was found to be a bit retentive. A good warm-up for the weekend in crystal clear 40-degree water.

Second PFD for the weekend on Saturday on the Cheat Narrows. I must say this run exceeded my expectations. Flow was 2000 cfs, and was a lot of fun. Starting at the put-in where we had a demonstration of an amazing new Jackson boat that was able to seal launch, run the first rapid and eddy out all by itself! When I scouted Calamity Rock rapid on Friday I observed 7 kayakers run it, with 4 flips and 2 swims. Our group had about the same batting average. There were several more rapids with nice wave trains and some fun moves.

I had to bow out of the race on Friday because of some injuries, but congrats to team Coastals for doing so well! Wish I could have at least added to the entertainment value...

I'll second the emotion of open boater regarding site of the meeting. The quantity and quality of whitewater available for all tastes makes A good location. When you combine that with a comparable quantity and quality of food, and friends, you have all the fixings for a great weekend! Here we go Coastals!

I think my arms are going to fall off...

3 PFDs in 3 days:

Dry Fork on Friday, could have used a bit more water but still an enjoyable run. II-III with a lot of surfing to be had.

Stonycreek on Saturday- tons of fun

Savage on Sunday- Release turned out to be about 450cfs, not necessarily a bad thing in an open boat. Wow, what a fun run. And there are eddies at that level...

I don't think we could have asked for a better weekend.
I kneel before you m'lady. No really, I can't stand up. Could you please help me out of my boat?

Thanks so much to everyone who came out and worked hard to make this meeting the most well attended and energetic Spring Meeting that I can remember.

I also appreciate everyone who has posted here to help get the word out.

Hopefully we'll be able to build on this year's success and turn this in to a new Club tradition.

Super stoked to get to catch up with everyone at the Club gathering this past weekend! I echo all of the comments thus far: Great boating venues, great friends, great food, great festival, and great weather. Adds up to a perfect club gathering weekend that I hope will be repeated in the years to come!

Looking forward to the Summer meeting already!
Generally, I think that if I have the opportunity to paddle, and I've got something else to do or I feel like I shouldn't go for some reason, then I force myself to go and I always have a great time. So, I guess when in doubt -- Go, Paddle. -- Tommy Hilleke

I dont think I could have packed much more fun into a weekend.

Friday - 8 mile MTB near the TY then Cheat Race.
Saturday - Savage (PFD) and TY double feature.
Sunday - LY R2 with Lindsay in the "high performance" shredder.

I'm really happy with the way the weekend turned out and I hope we can build on this next year for sure.
