O.C.T. December 8 Sunday - cancelled

Post by David »

Months ago I envisioned a trip to warmer climes but it is going to be cold this weekend way far south.

Sunday may see creeks east of the Blue Ridge up after a couple of days of rain. Weather Sunday is predicted as cold, maybe freezing rain. I do not want to drive or paddle in freezing rain but if it is above freezing would enjoy a run on the Tye from the North Fork Church to the Appalachian Trail Bridge or a run on the Conway River. Both are class 3 and there may be other options. Please post, PM, call or email if this sounds like fun. Be prepared for paddling in cold rain.

Saturday evening will be warm at the Camel, 1621 West Broad Street, RVA, where a gathering of kayakers and canoeists will enjoy paddling videos starting at 5pm.

If the rain comes and the creeks are up ill paddle. Conway would be great, if its up.

O.C.T. cancelled

Most recent weather report calls for wintry mix and ice to rain in Charlottesville. Richmond is supposed to stay just above freezing.

The river trip is cancelled.

Hope everyone does OK.
