We will be staying at the Breaks Lodge Fri night and plan to meet in the parking lot by the restaurant and Lodge registration building on Sat morning at 11:00 am. This should allow people who are traveling Sat morning time to get there. Meeting time can be changed if needed to meet the needs of those folks who are traveling on Sat.

I'm in. Staying Saturday night at the Gateway Motel just down the road from the park. Less atmosphere than the park lodge, but I'm saving $30.

I'm driving there Saturday morning.

Yes, the plan is to run the Upper Russell Fork again. Might do a short putin at Barlet so we can get off the river early for the drive home. Do you need any directions?

Hi, John!

Caitie and I will be joining you for Saturday and Sunday. At this point in time, Mark's not coming. :(

I'm not sure if I am driving up Friday or Sat AM, but will be camping in the park - likely on A Loop. Is Linda going to join us on the river??? Hope so! :D

October 20?

Post by David »

Cannot make the trip this weekend, but would enjoy driving over to Russell Fork to run the upper on Sunday October 20. I would leave from the Coastals quarterly gathering the night before.

What is the word on access at the putin below Flanagan Dam? I heard the government shutdown meant locked gates to the putin. The water was still being released (an essential government service?) but the putin would have to be two miles downstream at Bartlick Dam.

Flannigan Dam Russel Fork

Post by allsky7 »

This was on the Smith River Valley Canoe Club FB Page

For those going to Russell Fork this weekend -
Comments I saw on Russell Fork Boaters group about putting on the Pound last weekend :
We put on at the dam last weekend you just have to walk down the hill, the guard didn't mind at all.
Where did you park?
Parked at the office, walked down from there, he didn't mind us doing that, he just can't open the gate. It's not a bad hike at all we kind of drug out boats behind us on the smooth parts of the grass

It's in the park and easy to find. Go past three motel type buildings on the left and enter the circular driveway at the lodge parking lot (on the left).

Looks like we might have to decide which put in we want to use if the Dam is Army Corp and the road is closed. We are leaving town Fri morning. My cell # is five four zero three three nine zero six seven eight. See you Sat
