We just ran it OC-2 (woo hoo!) this evening and were surprised by the water level as we hadn't checked it at work. Evidently they choked back a couple hundred cfs from the dam on the Little Calfpasture. It was fine for us as we run it low often. Dunno that others would want to make the drive.

We're looking at options, stay tuned.

Well, it's too complicated to really change plans @ this point, so the trip is still on. It will be a low water run, tho I've run it lower. With luck, the dam won't drop again & we'll stay mostly level @ about 400 cfs. It's going to be a pretty day. We saw 2 otters playing in the river this evening! Anyway, I honestly don't know what to tell folks driving from Raleigh or Richmond, as to whether or not you want to make the drive. That has to be your call. I CAN guarantee I will have fun tomorrow @ this level. It does require boat control. As one friend says - you'll hit more rocks but you won't hit them as hard.

Hey Alicia,
Our Raleigh group has decided to pass on the Maury today to try to find more water elsewhere, but thanks for organizing the trip and giving us good info for decision-making! Hope you see you soon,

Alicia and Ken -

Thanks for coordinating an awesome trip, and showing us the low water lines - great fun and I'll be back for higher water!

All good fun, way to lace it up.

Shoot me a message with email addresses. I got a few decent shots of both of you coming through the Kitchen.

Cheers,

Ken
