14th St. Takeout maintenance project - Sun., Feb. 24th

Dear all,
JROC is organizing a few hours of much needed maintenance and small projects at the 14th St. takeout.

Sunday, Feb. 24th ...9am - 1:00ish.

reclaiming / spreading gravel
re-installing parking bumpers
Building stair handrails
etc.

It's up to paddlers to take care of what we use.
We look forward to seeing you there! :-)

Just show up....
If you can bring some tools great...
Square shovels, steel rakes, wheelbarrows, sledge hammers, pry bars, long handled clippers, cordless drills.

To everyone who came out to help Sunday... Big Thanks!

What a great turn-out to help take care of YOUR "playground".
At one point I counted over 50 folks. It was awesome to see so many folks taking ownership for what we have!

P.S. For folks not familiar with JROC, for over 15 years JROC has worked as the lead local volunteer group for James River Park users (primarily paddlers).

We request input from users (YOU) about what may be needed, or needs to be dealt with, and then work to make it happen. Whether it be physical projects, education, or advising users (and the City) about concerns and issues.
Please share your ideas and thoughts about what and how you want your playground to develop (or not).
…and not just about paddling either…
