This girl slammed into the rollback wave like she hit a brick wall, literally sat there surfing and then tried to power thru, rolled upside down and was spit out down stream. She was under so long she had to pop the seal and push out of the boat!
great shots...This stretch was where I first tried my hand at whitewater kayaking (granted it was late march, all boney, with snow along the banks); and the falls were here I had my final swim to send me walking up to the roadside for the day. One beautiful stretch of water, and an amazing piece of country. I'd love to see it when it is running spring/summer strength as you have it here. thanks for sharing
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming....WOW What a ride! . . . . . Trying to live up to this, Priceless. As long as you have good insurance!
I have to agree with Mango on this; oar rig shredders are so superior in the paddling world they don't even need their captain to play in the stickiest of holes. Even though he didn't have to prove it there was a great demonstration at Koontz Flume last year. We were in awe

Great photo Machias! I never got to do the Lochsa River when I was in Idaho. One of these years...

Sorry, and I'm not singling you out but this is a pet peeve of mine.
Those are catarafts, not Shredders. The pic of the two guys going backwards is a shredder. You can get an oar rig frame for a Shredder but I didn't see any in the pics so I'm assuming you were referring to the Catarafts.
The name Shredder gets used by many folks, some on this forum, going around calling anything that looks remotely like them a "shredder". It's like calling a Huffy Mtn. bike a Specialized Mtn. bike or worse, calling a Coleman canoe a Bell Ocoee...and nobody wants that now do they?
But you do have it right when you said...

PS: I own a Shredder. The real deal. 13 years old and still going strong!
