OCT: Lower Yough Sunday 7/29 W/ Quarterly Meeting

Post by JDzielak »

Meet at the Grassy Knoll BEFORE 10:00 to run shuttle. We'll be launching in the 10:00 hour so get your permit HERE for 10:00. If they run out of 10:00 permits get one for 9:00 and walk down the ramp a little early. You'll need to select Ohiopyle park from the drop down and get a hard boat pass for 10:00. Print your email confirmation and bring it to the put-in to claim your pass.

I've reserved 4 additional hard boat passes for 10:00 so the first 4 people to post here can have those. Hard boat passes are $3 and you will also need a shuttle token for $2 (available when you check in to claim your pass). Shuttle tokens do not need to be reserved.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel fee to email or PM me with the links at the bottom of this post.

See you there.

Thanks Jon

Thanks for building a little fire Jon. I will gladly take one of those passes and will reimburse you, but thanks for sparing me messing with the PA Parks website.

I plan to leave early Friday July 27 and paddle with Tom at 1 pm. As long as we are up north, I would not mind getting in another run on the Lower Yough Monday. Anyone else up for that?

I'll take that offer. Consider the second of your four hard boat permits spoken for! Thanks!
Generally, I think that if I have the opportunity to paddle, and I've got something else to do or I feel like I shouldn't go for some reason, then I force myself to go and I always have a great time. So, I guess when in doubt -- Go, Paddle. -- Tommy Hilleke

Alicia and I are "in". I bought permits for us from the park. At the time of my reservation there were 16 hardboat slots left, now down to 14.

Hey you old Phart! I hear your skills have taken a beating. You sure that you can handle this? I plan on being there late friday and be on the river by 8 am the next morning. If you are up to an old butt kicking come on out.

The lucky winners of my 4 extra passes are David, Brandon, Mike and Tom but fear not, there are still plenty of passes left if you follow the link at the top of this thread.

This will be my first time down in a play boat so I'm really looking forward to it! Maybe there will be even more pictures of me doing unintentional enders!

Update: 1 of my passes left for the first to claim. Apparently Mike can't handle the fury of the LY for two days.

Looks like we're going to have a great turnout. I've still got one pass up for grabs. If all the 10:00 spots are gone please feel free to get a 9:00 pass and we can put on a little early. My plan is to be running shuttle at 10:00 so shuttle drivers can put on at 10 and ride scavengers can put on in the 9 or 10:00 hours.
