LOOK OUT!!!

Let us know how it went! Swim confessions and carnage reports are welcome, but it's not fair to tell on your buddies!

LOOK OUT!!!

Post by Wallace »

I got SKILLS! Thanks to Dave Stockdill and Jackie Ireland for the full day of instruction. I can finally paddle the open boat in a straight line (for a few strokes), catch an eddy and peel out on my off side, and ferry on either side. I learned A LOT for one day. Plus I got a PFD on the Rappahannock. I can't wait to get out there and practice! Thanks again to Dave and Jackie. It really was fun and worthwhile. I think every one of the students would agree.

I agree. Definitely worth it. Besides learning what 'attainment' meant, and doing it a lot (did we go downriver, oh yeah, after the attainment), I also fully tested the dry suit for the first time, and second time. That was also my first time on that section of the Rap, and it's definitely a fun river. I'm looking forward to going back. Thanks Dave and Jackie.

I'm only truly comfortable with that move when I have a trusted partner (with her onside brace) in a tandem canoe!

This is fun stuff.

Cheers,

Glad to hear y'all hooked up with Dave and Jackie. It's awsome you're taking the big step of removing the "training wheels" off your boat. bn

Coming from one who takes a kayak when scared versus a canoe when wanting to seem elitist, er, no, ... , when wanting to add challenge without adding danger, I embrace this interest in canoes.

Bring it on. All good stuff.

Balcony will likely be at a premium level this weekend, by the way, just sayin'.

Me too!!! I'd also like to thank Tom for babysitting me down the river and the guy who got my paddle at Hollywood.

All the assistance in the world wouldn't have helped yesterday. I'm about as frustrated as I've ever been from boating. On a positive note... Vic had a great time! He's looking to come back again soon. Thanks to Tom and all the rest for helping me out of the water and helping Vic on the water. See yous soon.
