OCT Mangles Proposal Lower Gauley Trip October 8-9

Post by Mango »

Mangles Proposal Lower Gauley Trip October 8-9 :D
“Return to the Scene of the Crime”
Formally known as the Lower Gauley First Timers Trip

Giggles and I will be coordinating a trip on the Lower Gauley Oct 8-9.
We are planning on staying at Summersville Lake Retreat Campground .
http://www.summersvillelakeretreat.com/
We will be going up on Friday Night.
We presently have 2 campsites reserved, they will hold 8 people each.

This trip was started as a first timers trip and we hope to continue in that tradition.
If you are a first timer and are interested, please contact one of us (contact info at the end),
please don't just show up.
We have already had some interest from some first timers and to be able to accommodate
them and any more, we need some LG Veterans to join us also. So if you feel comfortable
on the LG and would like to help a “new to the LG” paddler, please let us know also.
We would like to make this as safe a trip as possible and will have to limit the number of
first timers if we don’t have enough veterans. Thanks for your help!

Also, this being the Anniversary of the Mangles Proposal, we’re encouraging any
Paddling couples that would like to take the next step to join us for this trip. We
didn’t have any last year, but we are still hopeful that we will have some this year.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming....WOW What a ride! . . . . . Trying to live up to this, Priceless. As long as you have good insurance!

Wallace, you're so convincing. Giggles, I'm already married to my J.O.B.! See you in a couple weeks for my PFD.

Good luck Spanky! We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

But.....I can't help but wonder if her nickname has anything to do with the surgery............ Ease up on her Turbo!

Now people, here's an example for all of you to go by.
Jacob and Jessica will be spending their Honeymoon with us!
Way to go Jacob! That's the way to get things straightened out from
the beginning. You da man!

Oh, and how's the hand.

Yes, if the New River Gorge is running at a good level (above -1.5) the girls and I would like to run that one more time that Sunday. Army Mike and maybe Suzanne are going to come up that day to paddle it and whomever else from the group are welcome. Not trying to hijack a trip! Just letting folks know what we are doing. Be forewarned (and people can vouch for this:) I don't know the lines very well. I should probably be classified more as an organizer than "Leader" - just sayin.

If its your first time on the NRG and you want a thorough guide - I am probably not the person. But see how the group comes together!

At first I was in.
Misread social calendar.
And then I was out.

Sorry I got my schedules mixed up. I will be there in spirit (I'm the one on the right).
