Let us know how it went! Swim confessions and carnage reports are welcome, but it's not fair to tell on your buddies!

Thanks to all for a great Saturday on the river. It was great to see you all again and to meet some new folks.

Thanks to Chris for running the upper New and hooking the Gorge folks up with the super pro shuttle. From the enthusiasm I heard on the ride home, it was a great run.

Thanks to Mangles for herding the cats on and off the river (including me  ).

I even got to Paddle with Jackie....(although I did not get a sticker  )

The only disappointment was the absence of Angry Dave   , thanks for being so well organized that this went off without a hitch.

Hopefully it will not be another year before I get to paddle with you all again.

PFD lower Gauley

Post by open boater »

gosh, where to begin? Thanks to everyone for their support and encouragement as I made my first descent down the lower Gauley.
Special thanks to Alicia whose river knowledge was instrumental in making my run down the lower G so enjoyable.
Saturday was another great day of paddling. Perfect weather & nice water levels all contributed to a beautiful day in the New River Gorge.
Shout outs to Mango for shuttle coordination and of course Sue, who put my truck in the premier shuttle spots all weekend.

Thanks to everyone that made the weekend so fun and easy.
Envelope – Free stationary taken from the Marriott while on a business trip.
Snowflake address label – sent to me free and had to be used up.
Stained glass stamp – It was more then three feet away from me when I decided to get them so you know I didn’t see them clearly
Butterfly and Sunflower stickers on the back – Also free and required because the glue on the envelope was so old it no longer stuck.

Kudos to Brandon, Sejal & Wade for stepping up & helping to make a fine fest weekend. So sorry Dave K. couldn't make it.

Great job to Tom on his Lower Gauley PFD. In truth, he was ahead of me most of the day!

For those who headed home on Sunday, you missed a beautiful day on the New, which our small group basically had to ourselves.

Thanks again to all who made this a classic club trip/event.

Great weekend indeed although I not only didn't get a Jackie sticker, I didn't get to paddle with her either!

Kudos to all the shuttle helpers! It was the best weasel-out-of-shuttling I've ever done.

Had a great time out there with everyone! Especially my bros Jdub and Juggy for the epic Top Yough / Upper Yough double header on Thursday! Looking forward to the next time!
Generally, I think that if I have the opportunity to paddle, and I've got something else to do or I feel like I shouldn't go for some reason, then I force myself to go and I always have a great time. So, I guess when in doubt -- Go, Paddle. -- Tommy Hilleke
