Balcony Falls, Friday, 9/23

Post by telfestrumpets »

My son and I will be up in that area and was wondering if anyone would be interested in running Balcony Falls with us. We haven't run it before and will be his third run. He has run the UJ twice before.

(This is all dependent on water levels of course. =)

I did see this but isn't there a put-in below this point? I thought there was according to AW but I may very well be wrong.

Thanks for the heads up though!!!

Just reread the post and got the take-out info. O.K., maybe I need to think of another option.

for the put-in: "The other option is to put in directly on the James " which avoids the strainer issues. involves carrying across the culvert and down the bank on the James.

The take out option to avoid the CSX is to use the boat ramp near the bottom of the lake - involves 20-25 minutes of lake paddling.
