When leaving the Ocoee on Monday we noticed a burlap sack being tossed out of the back of a pick-up truck. In a blur too quick to pick up with the naked eye, Jackie had her paddle out of the window and caught the payload before it was torn to shreds on the highway. The sac was full of tiny water people destined to greatness. From here out we'll call them Future Fans of Jackie...

I know Jackie is too shy to tell you this herself but I was reading Mother Teresa's Autobiography
and she credits her calling to help the poor in Calcutta to Jackie and that Jackie was her role model.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming....WOW What a ride! . . . . . Trying to live up to this, Priceless. As long as you have good insurance!

By the time I get to the Yough my head will be so big from this talk, it will probably throw off my balance and then be an anchor when I try to roll up!
And, why she needs an agent!
Don't miss the "Paddle with Jackie" at the Summer Gathering 2011 at the Yough on Saturday, 7/16!
"Super Secret Shortcut" to the Summer Gathering at
Well, we're getting close.
Just 3 more days and we'll be on the road to the Summer Gathering at the Yough.
So I have decided to break with tradition and give everyone a hint, so they can find the "Super Secret Shortcut" to the Yough!
I know what your thinking, Mango, have you finally lost it, have you peeled out of your last minds eddy, how dare you tell everyone about
the "Super Secret Shortcut" to the Yough!
Well, its just time to get it out there, why should everyone have to drive that extra 5 minutes!
Attached is a photo hint for the "Super Secret Shortcut" to the Yough!
And the first person to text, e-mail or show me on their camera, a picture of them with the very same clue.......will win a fabulous prize
(as soon as I figure out what that prize is)!
Happy trails, see you at the Summer Gathering.

Must be the Jackie PRO Tour gettin' the peeps out! WOW!!!
Generally, I think that if I have the opportunity to paddle, and I've got something else to do or I feel like I shouldn't go for some reason, then I force myself to go and I always have a great time. So, I guess when in doubt -- Go, Paddle. -- Tommy Hilleke

Envelope – Free stationary taken from the Marriott while on a business trip.
Snowflake address label – sent to me free and had to be used up.
Stained glass stamp – It was more then three feet away from me when I decided to get them so you know I didn’t see them clearly
Butterfly and Sunflower stickers on the back – Also free and required because the glue on the envelope was so old it no longer stuck.

Not to interrupt the EXCELLENT thread that Mango has going... just wanted to interject here / remind everyone that we will be getting together on Saturday nite after paddling at the Pavillion. Pot luck dinner at 6:30 (or bring your food & maybe something to share?) and short meeting/announcements at 7:30, followed by campfires and friends. The Board Members' meeting is at 5 - all are welcome.
now back to that shortcut...don't ask me - my kids won't ever follow a shortcut that I suggest! (something about past experiences, or some such excuse!)

Sunday permit
I'd like to paddle Sunday also; not sure what time others are going. Tried to figure out reserving a permit, but I was unsuccessful.
