UJ Saturday w/ kids? (other options)

Post by telfestrumpets »

The James is expected to be at 8.5 on Saturday according to (http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrogra ... 1,1,1,1%22)

If this is too high to take my 11 yo son down for his first time are there other options? I am coming from Hampton Roads so the closer I stay to Richmond the better.

YES, the Upper and Lower James, as it pertains to Richmond is too high! I have no options.

Flat Water

Post by Marsha »

I'm looking for somewhere flat to take my son not too far from town. I may go to Pocohontas state park Sunday but I am tired of that area. I just toured White Banks Park this week and it was great but I don't want to get lost.

I'm looking for ideas for flat water myself.

High water option in Richmond area

The South Anna is a great option when level is too high for kids on the UJ and LJ.
