Sat 10/2 am run on Upper or Lower James

Post by Paddle Daddy »

First thing Sat morning I want to hit the upper, if the new projection holds. Would hit the Lower if it turns out to be under 8' or so. I have to be off by 10 or 10:30 am. Post or pm.

PaddleDaddy - I could be down for the Upper if the river is above 10ft. Prolly heading to the Lower if below 10ft for a couple laps. No worries, I'll be sober.
Generally, I think that if I have the opportunity to paddle, and I've got something else to do or I feel like I shouldn't go for some reason, then I force myself to go and I always have a great time. So, I guess when in doubt -- Go, Paddle. -- Tommy Hilleke

Yoad and I will be there @ 7 and whatever Brandon does we will probably do. Not. If the Lower is over 8.5 i am not going past Reedy unless we bring Barney.

I'll join you for the upper and/or lower. If the level is less than 9' then Daniel may join in for an upper run. Otherwise it'll just be me joining you. If anyone is interested in running just the UJ at lower levels with us, let me know.

I have been looking at the gauges and rain fall in the western part of the state. There maybe enough water in the creeks to take a road trip. Watch the gauges!

Sat am ...

Post by Paddle Daddy »

I, for one, do not have flexibility to head west so I am still looking for company on a morning run in Richmond.

And if this projection holds, we'll be starting at ZDam. Life is, indeed, very very good.

Saturday plans

Post by Paddle Daddy »

Projection just keeps changing so let's just plan on meeting at 14th Street at 7. Anyone who plans on running the whole thing can leave cars there.

FYI, if over 9 feet I am pretty sure I am just running the upper. If right around 9 I still might stay upstream, depends on the crowd and whether Lucie is coming with me.

The crowd

Post by Paddle Daddy »

Didn't your parents teach you about blindly following "the crowd?" What if all of your friends jumped off a bridge, you wouldn't do it too, now would you?

You might have picked the wrong one for that lesson.
But just be glad he made a 90% decision.

Trying to live up to this, Priceless. As long as you have good insurance!
