o.c.t.- Lower Yough 7-24/25

Post by open boater »

Due to the limited # of launch permits & camping sites available, I'm trying to get an idea of how many club members will be coming on this trip.
So, who wants to paddle the Yough?

Anyone going to be doing the Middle either day? I would be interested in paddling the Middle one day and rafting the Lower the other.

Keith and I will both be there for paddeling on the lower, Saturday AND Sunday! I already informed Stephanie! We will be staying at a different campground due to the lack of RV sites at Tall Oaks, but we will only be 4 miles away!

I'd love to come if there is still room. I'd like to paddle both Saturday and Sunday.

trip update

Post by open boater »

Here's the plan- Camping Friday & Saturday nites at Tall Oaks in Farmington PA. We have reserved a pavilion, $ 25.00/nite that will offer electric. We will accept donations to pay for the pavilions. Camping is $11.00/nite/person.
We have 15 permits for 10 am on Saturday, here are the people we have accounted for: 1) Stephanie 2) Me 3) Mike Keith 4) Mark Pizzini 5)Patrick Haines 6) John Forsythe 7) Pat Mac Pherson 8) Big Mike 9) Suzanne 10) Brad 11) Keith (Turbodog) 12) Kelli (Spanky) 13) Dustin 14) Brian Mutchler 15) MarkT
If you are on this list and not planning on coming please advise us.
If you are not on this list, you will need to get your own launch permit.
Launch permits are $3.00/person- payable to Stephanie
You will need $4.00 for a bus token. These are purchased at the put-in.
We will meet on Saturday morning at 9am at the "grassy knoll" across from the put-in. We will arrange shuttle from there.
It appears that we have a strong group of paddlers with a good mix of experience and beginners. If you have never run this river, let us know and we will take extra care to make sure you have a fun successful trip.
See you in Ohiopyle!

Since we are not camping at Tall Oaks (it's not RV friendly) we will be camping about 4 miles away. We will have to get more information on where this "Grassy Knoll" at the put in is sicne we have never been there! Looking forward to it!

Going to have to scratch on this weekend - got to work at Wintergreen. If someone is gunning for my launch pass, have at it.

Hope you all have a trip with lots of dry hair and good times!
