When I was at Benner's I noticed there was a sign talking about a quarantine on firewood. I found this article about it and this one too
Edit: Read the second file, it is mainly dealing with transporting firewood OUT of the quarantine area. But I remember seeing a sign at Benner's about not bringing outside firewood. I'd suggest calling Tall Oaks before bringing a truckload along....
I love the smell of Neoprene in the morning...

Convinced the spousal unit to come along but it will cost me a stay @ a B&B, so I won't need camping BUT I do need a permit for Sat and Sun. Got enough?

JoAnn told me last night that all of her 18 permits have been spoken for. With the cold weather I would think that traffic on the river would be low and some permit holders would be no shows. What I’m saying is I think permits could be purchased day of.

Could also call and make reservations - I have one permit left for Saturday that you can have, Joe. Also - think there are places to buy firewood out there - if I remember correctly, there were some near Benner's which can't be too far from Tall Oaks. TO might also sell it.
If we need any extra permits, we will purchase them as needed. With the current weather forecast, I'm sure that there will be some no shows. As far as firewood goes, if you can bring some great, I'm sure we will be able to buy some nearby.

I've had good results with Wilderness Voyageurs renting rafts and would assume same with IK-2.
I just bought 3 permits for Saturday ( start time 0900----1000 all gone) but I think you can use the permit any time in that hour before the next group is scheduled to leave. I also bought 2 for 1000 Sunday. Permits easy to get online through visitpaparks.com and you don' have to call during their limited business hours! :)
I'm not going to be able to go. I came down with a cold and haven't been able to shake it. It doesn't feel like a good idea to camp two nights in 30 degree weather and float around in mountain water... As much as I'd like to go, I'm gonna have to stay home.
I'll be glad to pay anything you need me to for the reservations. Just PM me and let me know. I hope everybody has a great time!
