Mangles Return to the Scene of the Crime

Post by Wallace »

A good time was had by all!

I paddled my new boat and liked it. Gromit demoed a boat and didn't. Fortunately Kessmann had us on the middle section first so she could swap before proceeding on to the lower. The middle is a good warmup for the lower by the way. Especially since it comes first. Jackie was with us and Laced It Up!!! We met Mangles and company at Wood's Ferry and had a great day on the Lower G, Yo! I really did enjoy paddling the new boat. Now we really have to get some rain around here!

We dined in style at the mexican place in Summersville, then off to the campground to sit around the fire. Our dog, Jack provided the evenings entertainment by loving to be petted so much he didn't mind having his tail singed in the fire. Not to worry though, he managed to erase the smell of burnt hair from his nose by burgling some fish tacos from Stephanie's cooler. You're a good sport Stephanie!

Let's get some rain around here. SOON!

Great weekend :D Thanks for putting up with me while I faffed around changing boats - was good to be back in my kingpin!
Thanks to Mangles for organising and Dave S for the shuttle (esp after I spilled his beer  )
Jack apologises for the stink of burnt fur, but did enjoy the fish tacos - with no adverse effects (thankfully).
Fun times.
Oh, big thanks to Sejal for showing us not where to go in PSH
Wallace, the new boat looked good on you.

Thanks. I had a good time.

Wallace's pancakes are better than Stockdill's and better than Sejal's french toast. Congratulations Wallace.

Thanks to everyone for coming. It was great to have you be a part of the Mangles Proposal Extraganza. :D
I hope ya’ll had a great time, Sejal and I did!

I had a lot of personal first this weekend......
First time, being stuck in traffic in C-ville for an hour, because of 3 men in a hole, thanks VDOT!
First (and last....maybe) time, shuttling on the road (and I’m being kind) from Peters Creek to the Woods Ferry Put in.
First time, losing boats off of the MangoVan, none went sliding down the hill though.
First time, completely flipping the Oar Rig at Backender. Special thanks to Stockdill for the advice on running the rapid!
First time, guiding a raft down the LG. Thanks to my crew, Jackie and Suzanna.
First time dumping my crew at Koontz Flume, sorry Jackie and Suzanna.
First and last time, eating at the Peking Buffet in Summersville (could be the reason for the Oar Rig incident……..i’m just saying, it could have been).

Great job by our only first timers who made it, Brian and Matt.

Wallace, great job in the new boat!

Thanks, Giggles for the French toast and KessmanN for the help cooking. Thanks to Stockdill, Wallace and Gromit for the pancakes.
A big special thanks to my crew, Jackie and Suzanna for not mutinying and making me walk the plank after Koontz. Ya’ll did great!

I’d also like to thank whoever was responsible for the great campfire on Saturday night………..

Thanks Jeff for running shuttle on Sunday. :D

We’ll have to do it again next year!
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming....WOW What a ride! . . . . . Trying to live up to this, Priceless. As long as you have good insurance!

Awesome weekend :!: :D
Thanks for the ride Jeff and Susanna, it was a great help. Thanks to the Dave’s for cooking pancakes, bacon and coffee, yummy. Thanks to everyone who patiently waited on Sunday, sorry for any delays. Great to see Brain and Matt tear it up for the first time. Thank you Wade and Sejal for another O.C.T. you guys have really out done yourselves this year. It was great following Dave K. to learn where all the cool kid boof moves were. Great job to Wade, Jackie and Susanna rafting on Sunday too. Lots of fun. :D

I think that's going a bit far. I really liked Sejal's french toast. AND I ate some of Stockdill's pancakes since mine were all gone. They were good too, Even if they did have blueberries in them. Also I have Gromit to thank for hiking to the shower house to get warm water so the pancakes would rise a little. I think we should also recognize Stockdill for bringing bacon for you to cook. And finally I was very pleasantly surprised by the apples and sausage. A team effort all around!

Yes. It was very considerate of him to put it by the stove and let me know it was over there anytime it was convienent for me to get to it.

Well, if you’ve got a choice, I’d bite one of Wallace’s pancakes first. I know I look pretty tasty 8) but I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

The french toast was good but is no match against Wallace’s self rise P-R-O batter. It’s almost an unfair advantage, really.
