Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming....WOW What a ride! . . . . . Trying to live up to this, Priceless. As long as you have good insurance!
Coastals are great!
Coastals are great!
Need a place to stay? They line up a campground with a pavilion. (Handy in downpours.)
Need to get to the river? They give you a ride.
Hungry? They feed you.
Need evening entertainment? They line up a double feature.
Fall out of your boat? They help you get back in.
Need a photo from a nap at Swimmer's Resort Beach? Camera at the ready.
It was a great time "up north." All the rain and catching the Casselman (at 1500 cfs Friday) again ten years later was a treat. So were Lower Yough runs at 2.9' and 2.4'. Thanks to all who worked so hard so I could relax and enjoy.
Monday was a gorgeous drive north and east through the PA mountains. Hard to believe so few people live there. Wednesday through today stayed at James River State Park in Buckingham County, between Bent Creek and Wingina. Awesome views of the Blue Ridge driving in from Wingina. Water is a nice temp, quite a bit cooler than Cartersville or Richmond, but warmer than the Yough, which is good.
