Rappahannock Today

Let us know how it went! Swim confessions and carnage reports are welcome, but it's not fair to tell on your buddies!

Rappahannock Today

Post by Barb »

Thanks, Larry, for a great trip! We had eleven paddlers, 3 kayaks, 1 c-1 and 7 canoes (can't figure out how to get pics small enuf to attach). I didn't know the new rule requiring the person taking pics to write the trip report...wonder how long that's been the rule - Larry?

We didn't have any swims, but sure saw a lot of others swimming at Sandy Beach Rapid - gave us a chance to practice our boat herding skills!

We put on the river at the home of a friend of Larry's - so thankful for these people - I understand there's is no longer access to a put-in in the Remington area for the public. Took out at Kelly's Ford bridge - the parking lot was packed! Met some of these on the river - Float Fisherman and Coastals' members both.

It was a great trip - about 3 miles of quiet before a couple miles of some fun class II/II+ drops to wind our way thru. The day went too quickly - good to see some of the Fredericksburg paddlers (Gramanns, Gross's) again- and meet some new Fredericksburg friends. Thanks to all!

THanks Barb!

for you company and the trip report!

did not know about the trip report rule either .. but someone at lunch was pretty sure it was a rule and past Presidents of the Coastals are not likely to be snookered with bogus rules.

right?

;-)

thanks!

I totally enjoyed the trip and meeting lots of friendly paddlers. I hope to see everyone on a river again real soon.

Dave

p.s. Barb, I would be more than happy to walk you through the steps for reducing picture file size.
