Interesting.

I called the recording for the dam and they said it was going to be like this all day but didn't mention the weekend. I wonder what is up?

Too bad the people that control the dam could not wait to release the water until the weekend.

Summersville Dam Releases

Post by unclefuzzy »

The releases from Summersville Lake are pretty normal for this time of year. After the scheduled releases for "Gauley Season", the COE cuts the amount they release for fish stocking and fishing until the end of October. On November 1st they start releasing more water until the lake reaches winter pool (1575 feet). You can tell the current level of the lake by looking at the COE web page at http://www.lrh-wc.usace.army.mil/wc/whitewater.html.
