Beginner Paddle, Saturday, 4/20/24, OCT on Maury River near Lexington, VA
Posted: Mon Apr 15, 2024 12:55 pm
Welcome to the beginner trip for our 2024 Spring Gathering.
Planning to run the Maury River near Lexington, VA. Will put-in at Jordan's Point Park and take-out at the DWR ramp, Stuartsburg Road (rt 608), with 7.5 river miles. Note we will be having our evening Gathering for pot luck supper and program in Jordan Point so hoping that makes it convenient.
Please meet at 11am at the Jordan Point put-in to set shuttle. I am known for starting on time so suggest you arrive a few minutes before 11am.
Here are the location addresses for the put-in and take-out. Just put these addresses into Google and you will be there.
- Put-in: Jordan's Point Park, Stono Ln, Lexington, VA 24450.
- Take-out: VMI Route 60 Bridge Boat Launch, E Midland Trail, Buena Vista, VA 24416 (note this take out has various names depending where you look).
Please check back here as the river level and weather may force us to go to a backup paddle location. As of now the river level for this beginner trip looks good. I will post again with final details on Friday afternoon.
Please let me know if you plan on joining the trip.
