O.C.T. Novice 11/13 Dealers Choice - Rivanna River
Anyone interested in coordinating a trip?
I'm on the calendar for a dealers choice novice trip on November 13th. Unfortunately, my dry suit is out of commission, so I can't do a cold weather paddle.
If you've never coordinated, it's not hard. Pick a river, set a time, communicate. You can ask your attendees to help with shuttle logistics, probe and sweep help, whatever you want.
Let me know if you're interested. Otherwise I'll need to cancel the trip.

Re: O.C.T. Novice 11/13 Dealers Choice - Rivanna River
Bill Capp has volunteered to coordinate a trip in my place.
There is a caveat, though - If we don't get rain this week, and Alicia's Maury trip turns into a Balcony trip, please join her trip. If we do get rain, and Alicia does a Goshen trip, Bill Capp will coordinate a trip on the Rivanna from Darden Towe Park to Milton Landing. Information is as follows:
Meet at Darden at 11 AM. We will drop boats
and run as many vehicles as we can down to Milton and get back to put on
sometime around noon.
For first timers, we will encounter 4 class II rapids with increasing
difficulty until the last one which is just before the takeout. I expect
the water level to be about 300 cfs (Palmyra gage - https://dashboard.waterdata.usgs.gov/ap ... pen=147040) which is low runnable and we may get a
slight boost if it rains Friday. If it drops below 250 or so, we should
probably cancel or look elsewhere. Once we put on, we won't stop except
for an occasional surf wave, so grab an early lunch and plan to be on the
river for about 2 1/2 hours.
People should let Bill Capp know by Friday evening 6 PM or so if they are coming.
People can respond to him on the forum, message him on Facebook Messenger, or
text him on his number in the Coastals directory.
