I ran Cherry and Top Gauley Saturday - Didn't see anyone else on the river, though. I was my first time on those sections. Quite nice.

Hope you had a good day. Weather was great.

Sorry I missed your post - we could have coordinated shuttles!

Let me know if you go again. I enjoyed those sections.

Ran from Richwood on down

Post by dkeller »

Put on about noon.

Saw a couple other cars at Richwood put in.

Got off maybe around 3:30 - 4pm.

Nice low key run.

We took off at Curtin Bridge so only ran about 20 yards of the Gauley.

No one posts these days.

Glad people are out paddling. I assume you went with others.

I did post a trip report!

Don.

OK - we were 30 minutes ahead of you. Put on at about 11:30. Left a blue Subi and silver Chevy truck at Richwood putin We stayed after it pretty steady and ran down to Persinger access. Got off about 5 or so, I guess. The run on the "top Gauley" gets a little busier below Curtin bridge confluence. One scout at Ships Prow.

We had one kayak, two in a 13 foot R2 Mariavia paddle raft and a 14 foot solo cataraft.

A nice long day... Pretty with all the mountain laurel in bloom!

Persinger? Wow

Post by dkeller »

According to AW, that is a little over 12 miles from Curtin bridge. I have gone down to Panther Creek but never hear of people going that far.

Saw a video of this section on youtube. looked like fun.

Saw the cars at put in.

Thanks.

Wish I could have made it out for that run. 5 hour one way trip alone is a little much for me though.

5 hour drive

Post by dkeller »

I understand that.

5 hours for us as well.

Have to take what we can get these days. So few trips posted although starting to find a few more people paddling out there.
