Appomattox Sat. 5/23

I’m planning a no-shuttle trip on the Appomattox Saturday morning around 10. I plan to paddle up the canal from Ferndale (Appomattox Riverside) Park to the Abutment dam, then back down the river to my starting point. The canal section is 1.5 miles. The river section is about 2 miles with a couple of Class III, and numerous Class I-II rapids. Anyone is welcome to join me (assuming adequate skills), at an appropriate physical distance. This is a fun section, and a good alternative to the James when it is high and parking closed or crowded.
