Summer Gathering July 20- 21 with Single Blade Getaway

Post by Giggles »

All Boaters welcome! Kayakers, Canoeists, rafters, shredders, Suppers!!!

Single Bladers Get Away in conjunction with Coastals Canoeists Summer Gathering
The Getaway/Gathering is serving two terrific objectives: 1. Giving back to this amazing lifestyle by sharing knowledge amongst each other. Whether you’ve been paddling 2 months or 2 decades, we all have experience. This is the weekend to share this info between each other. An opportunity to try out gear from lifejackets, to paddles, to boats. 2. This weekend is for solid Mentorship and Knowledge sharing. It is free to all. Donations are accepted with 100% of proceeds going to PTSD Veteran Athletes. This organization specifically gets Wounded Vets into our amazing outdoors to help relieve physical and mental pain. www.ptsdveteranathletes.com The first Getaway began in 2015 with only 13 in attendance. Our 2018 Getaway we were pushing 125. The weekend is designed for Single Bladers and paddlers of all craft. Depending on water levels there may be opportunities for paddling from beginner/ intermediate to advanced rivers. This year the event is being held in conjunction with Coastals Summer Gathering. Come and join in the fun and let’s share and give back in more ways than one.

To help organize the day we are hoping at least 6 of you will volunteer to help coordinate for the day - 3 in each discipline of Canoe and Kayak. We are also having a raffle this year and the prizes are being added as we speak All proceeds will be saving lives of our Veterans going through PTSD by getting them into our Outdoor lifestyle. Raffle will be held on Saturday, July 20th at the campground at 9pm. Must be present to win.

Just a reminder that this is not limited to our canoeist community! All paddle powered boats are welcome. Come join in the fun. Share your knowledge. Join our trips.

Post up a trip if you know ahead of time what you want, or come to the meetings in the morning to figure out what you want to do that day.

Come laugh at my multiple swims as I learn how to paddle a canoe!

-yours in service,
Bill

To borrow from naturalist John Muir, The river is calling and I must go.
