O.C.T. Bottom Tye changed to bottom Maury SUNDAY 6/2

I'm on the Cruise schedule for a bottom Tye trip this Sunday. There's not enough water in the Tye and not enough rain in the forecast before Sunday, so I'm gonna switch to the bottom Maury, Jordan's Point Park in Lexington to the DGIF access in Buena Vista just off of route 60. We'll put in at Jordan's Point at the canoe landing ABOVE the old DAM. Let's meet there at the canoe launch where the gravel road ends at 11:30 AM. We'll drop boats/gear and take cars to the take out.
I'm picking this section because they have taken out the dam! Just this week! Some folks may want to paddle upstream to see the area that was part of the still water while, or before, we set shuttle.
This is about 7.3 miles. Pretty easy stuff. I'm expecting a nice flow to the river even though it is low.
Please let me know if you are coming.

Count me in! This is exciting to paddle a free-flowing section of river now. A dam has been there since at least 1810 until today! I will get there early to paddle upstream some. Terri

Count me in, as well. I have not been to this put-in before, and looking on Google maps, I don't see a dam near Jordan's Point park. Is the meeting place on Jordan Point Park Island itself? Stono Lane?

Coming, probably with a novice boater.

Yes. Meeting Jordan's Point park. Which on Google maps I see is called Stono Lane. I've never noticed that sign. Go into the park, cross a little bridge and then bear left on a gravel "road" around the edge of a field.

Very interested, but the forecast looks iffy. Not a fan of paddling in rain, stormy weather.

Sunshine and clouds mixed. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible. High 81F. Winds W at 10 to 15 mph.

Laura & I are in as well. Is there a lower comfortable level for this run?

no, i don't really have a minimum level for this section. I'm hoping that Ken, Terri, and perhaps others will chime in. The lowest that I have run it is 1.55 on the BV gage. The latest reading from that gage was 2.02 at 3:45 PM on May 29. Equipment busted now. My notes from the run at 1.55 is that it was low with a nice flow to it.

Looks like the Maury at B.V. gauge just flipped back on. 1.94. Prolly in the 1.8 - 1.9 range by Sunday. The only gauge beta I have for this run is the high water run we did some weeks ago.
Cheers and look forward to the sound of grinding aluminum,
