Withlacoochee River and State Forest camping and paddling Feb. 23-March 4

If you want to join on a spring trip to Florida you should make a reservation at Holder Mine Campground in Withlacoochee State Forest. It is the only campground with power and showers in this state forest.

Withlacoochee SF is about 100 miles north of Tampa. Nearby paddling is on Withlacoochee River (many sections) and on Rainbow Springs and Weeki Wachee Springs.

There are two Withlacoochee Rivers in Florida. One starts in Georgia. This trip does not go to that one.

Here is a link to the Withlacoochee Trail State Park. It is a paved 46 mile trail for hiking and bicycling.

There is a connector trail, the Good Neighbor trail, running from the town of Brooksville to the Withlacoochee Trail.
