I should be good for 6:30 dawn patrol. Eric, is that too early for you? If not, are you heading to the mountains from there or did you want to carpool?

6:30 am is good. I'm staying local this weekend Jimmy. Where do you want to meet? Im thinking meet at 5:15 AM somewhere in Williamsburg? Give us time to move boats to one car and what not.

Eric my house is only a mile or so off 64 at the Lightfoot exit, 45 minutes to takeout. I can drive from here if you want. I'll msg. you with info.

Guys - are you willing to have a Lower James rookie along? I'm a solid Class III paddler whose done my share of Class IV drops. It looks like there are a lot of hazards to avoid on the James though so I don't want to run it without the benefit of someone who knows the river.

David, yes, 6:30, meeting at 14th Street takeout lot. There is a thread at the top of this forum for "paddling destinations" with directions.

David, you're welcome to join the group going at 9:00 if that works better for you. And if you don't make it out tomorrow, just post here anytime you can get down to Richmond. Lots of accommodating paddlers down here that are happy to show you the lines. That's how I learned.
