7-18-15 UPPER New Family Trip for Quarterly Gathering

Post by JDzielak »

I'm coordinating a family friendly upper new trip for the quarterly gathering. I'm going to take my wife and son (5.5 years old). Please come along and join the fun. More details to come. We'll plan to meet at the campground at 9am on Saturday or as soon as the business meeting ends.

If I have a perfect storm of 1) success on the upper new 2) a raft to borrow and 3) one or two more passengers and 4) perfect water level I might try for NRG, MG or LG for sunday. I'm just throwing this possibility out now if there is anyone who can 1) loan me a raft and 2) if anyone has a significant other or spouse that would come if they could get a ride.

Please post your comments, intention to join me, questions, concerns here.

I'm looking forward to another quarterly gathering!

I would love to join your trip on Saturday!

It would be fun to raft with you on Sunday if that works out (but I don't think I would be the ideal candidate for your perfect storm). We'll see what happens. I'm happy to stay in my IK on Sunday too.

Thanks! Terri

Thinking about the Glade Creek section of the New on either Friday afternoon or Sunday. It's a fun little short section.

Would love to join you on the Upper New Saturday.

This will be my first event with Coastals since moving to Virginia from North Georgia recently.

Looking forward to meeting some Virginia whitewater paddlers

Based on the water level we might look at doing a section of the upper upper gauley or cherry which would be a really nice treat for this time of year. I'll stick with something that's novice appropriate. Stay tuned for updates. Schedule will remain the same.

Hi Bill. Please feel welcomed. A few of us enjoyed a bit of north Georgia a few weeks ago on the Chattooga!

Cheers,
