Call for tandem open boats for visiting Reunion paddlers

I have received inquiries by former Coastals who are coming this weekend! These folks want the opportunity to paddle but don't have a boat. This Reunion could be BIG. And I need some help.

Who among you can come with a tandem canoe?
Are you willing to take a paddler/rider?
Do you need paddles or PFD's?

Let me hear from you through this forum, or phone 804-two18- one238, so I will know how many visiting paddlers to which I can commit a seat.
I'm first.
Who's next?

Weather is forecast to be sunny and 60's.

I can bring a tandem canoe.

I would be happy to take on a paddler and a rider.

I have spare PFD's, paddles, and helmets.

Cheers,

Ted, I am planning to paddle my VERY ragged 18ft Grumman (dents, holes, and all). I can take a passenger if they are willing to listen to the clunk, clunk, clunk of what may be a rocky trip. I can bring my 16ft Blue Hole instead if you have a passenger who wants to ride with a slight bit more style. I am also willing to bring both canoes and paddle the Grumman and loan out the Blue Hole if someone wants to paddle it solo (or tandem without me). Let me know what is needed and I will make it happen. As long as I am on the river paddling something, I will be happy.

I have an Old Town Pathfinder (flat bottom) Tandem Canoe that I can bring if someone wants to paddle it. I'm not planning on paddling it, but can if needed.

I can bring PFD's and Paddles for the canoe also.

I can bring my tandem and offer the bow seat.

I would have the paddle and pfd covered for that person.

I can also bring my solo and have 2 folks use the tandem. I would be short one pfd in that case and probably short a decent paddle.

Let me know if you'd need me to bring both.

I'm not able to go, but if someone wants to haul my canoe up and back, you're welcome to borrow it. The bow seat has a crack in it from too much me, but it still holds 300 lbs on flat water. (I kneel in the rapids) it's a 17' NC prospector.

Alas!
Yesterday and today I called those with advance requests for a paddle opportunity to confirm their attendance and all but one has cancelled. :( Al Douglas, '71 President was coming the farthest from AZ and he will not make it to the reunion after all.

I am paddling my tandem canoe and will accommodate the one former Coastal wanting a ride.

Unless late requests come in, each of you is released and may go about planning your Saturday paddle as you normally would. I now know who to contact if things change.

I am overwhelmed with your response. Thanks for the great support.
