Virginia Beach Sea Kayakers????
I am new to the area and am a serious sea kayaker, living in Williamsburg.
Looking for a group of serious paddlers to surf and paddle rough water in the VA Beach area who like to paddle year round.
I have good skills, etc (BCU 4 star)
Anyone others out there that I can join?
thanks
Matt

I am a member of a club in the Hampton Roads area that meets some of your requirements. We paddle outrigger canoes (1,2 and 6-man), surf skis, and sea kayaks. We paddle year round, although during the cold months we often meet in more protected creeks, and paddle our marathon boats. Our main focus is racing, but we like to get out in rough water.
We are paddling at the Ocean View fishing pier (in Norfolk) tonight(8/15) and Friday night, starting about 4:30, but people will be there until about 7 pm. We will also be there Sunday morning at 7:30. We also hold paddles on the Peninsula (Huntington Beach in Newport News) as well as other sites.
Check out Mid-Atlantic Paddler's Association on Facebook for our schedule, or PM me and I will e-mail it to your. Some of our members also work with Team River Runner Virginia Beach, which is a relatively new chapter of the national organization. They are seeking to provide paddling and kayak surfing opportunities for disabled vets. Hope to hear from you!
