Post by PAC-MAN »

Anyone want to go to the New River George aug 18th/19th and or 25th/26th? I haven't run it before but looking for someone or a few people who want to go out and kayak it for the weekend. I live in VB and will probably head out there Friday night and stay through Sunday. Anyone interested?

25th-26th

I'm going to be in the NRG area on the 25th and 26th, and would love to meet up with some other *intermediate* paddlers for a run or two. I'm not comfortable running IV-IV+ right now, at least without a super solid sidekick. If someone is there who knows the river like the lines on their lover's face, and can guide me, I might consider running the Gorge, but I'm thinking there have to be some good steady III+ runs in that area. I'm not opposed to charging through a IV once or twice, but I don't really feel like I've got my chops yet (roll isn't super reliable - ~67%), and don't want to swim too much!

If you're interested in either running some intermediate stuff, or possibly doing a little hand-holding, let me know.
Comfy in Class II, eager for Class III, and want better chops 'fore I venture into Class IV. Just getting back in, and super psyched to run some rapids.
