It's gonna be GORGEous!

Post by Wallace »

I've given up on WOR again this year. Instead, Gromit and I are gonna go up to the New River Gorge on Saturday 6/30 and Sunday 7/1. Come and join us!

If you're comfy and confident, then just show up. If you're wondering whether or not you're up to it, then email or PM.

We'll drive up Saturday morning. Plan to meet at the Visitor's Center at noon Saturday to set shuttle. We'll stay at Ray's Saturday night after paddling. Then meet at the visitor's center again at 10 Sunday morning for another go on the gorge before heading home.

I've gotten several emails about the trip. Thanks! Here's a LINK to the AW page for the Gorge. You can check the gage and descriptions of the rapids. Enjoy.

With such an awesome play on words I might have to get in this one(water level dependent)! 8)
Have you swam with your kayak lately?

The response has been positive, tho on the down low. I'll start selling people out closer to the day. For now we have about a half dozen who are in.

Sunday July 1 is Savage release

Post by swimmus »

July 1, Sunday, is the Savage release. May be the reason for the down low..... I know I am trying to get to there myself.

Gromit and I encourage the notion of GORGEous Saturday and Savage Sunday. But don't relish the drive ourselves. I know some people who are going to be at the Savage on Sunday, but will probably be on the Upper Yough on Saturday. Pick your poison. It's all good.

Lots of talk about this trip tonight at Legends after the LJ paddle. Sounds like there is lots of interest and some might do the NRG on Saturday and then head to the Savage for Sunday. See you all there.

bump Bump BUMP!

You may have heard of my recent injury. While I probably can't paddle with stitches in my hand, I can sit in a raft. Thankfully Mangles will be pushing rubber. So the trip is still on! Gromit will be kayaking, among others, so don't despair.

Leigh! Cool! :D
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming....WOW What a ride! . . . . . Trying to live up to this, Priceless. As long as you have good insurance!
