I'm new to Richmond from Portland, OR I've been boating for 10 years looking for some people to boat 3/4 with.

Welcome to the area. Do not be discouraged by the lack of responses. Many folks are down in North Carolina for Week of Rivers. I am staying home with a new baby and not boating much for the next bit.

Rest assured that you have found the right place to hook up with river folks. Next week you should hear from some more folks. SOYTR

Also, I strongly encourage you to attend our summer meeting on the Lower You next weekend. It will be good boating and a great chance to connect with folks.

That's the ticket Shannon, pump up the Summer Gathering at the Yough! (sorry about the thread jack, but you gave me an in for a "shameless plug")

Erik, I'm afraid I'm on the IR right now, so I can only help you with info. There are 2 reasonable (time may very a little) regular meeting times for groups paddling the Lower James. Wednesdays at 5pm and Sundays at 11:30am. Both at the 14th Sreet Takeout. Just show up, introduce yourself and that you'd like to join. It isn't much harder than that. Also, watch the board, lots of impromptu trips.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming....WOW What a ride! . . . . . Trying to live up to this, Priceless. As long as you have good insurance!
