Saturday update: Our local weather watcher, the girl in the red canoe, reports plenty-o-wind in the Pass as of 9:30 a.m. Local weather is calling for a high wind advisory through 6:00 p.m. Not such a big deal for decked boats but a problem for open boats.

The water level is holding remarkably steady, to the point where I was wondering if the gauge was stuck. I looked downstream at Buena Vista and saw a similar graph so I guess it's true.

I plan to run a trip on the Maury below Rockbridge Baths tomorrow, Sunday, meeting at the post office / store at noon unless the bottom drops out water-level-wise. Please let me know if you plan to attend.

Cheers,

Ken

Ken, I will keep up with the post. I may try to join you all Sunday. We also have some high winds here in Roanoke and canceled a trip here also.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming....WOW What a ride! . . . . . Trying to live up to this, Priceless. As long as you have good insurance!

paddling Rockbridge Baths

Unless I hear it is a no-go from Bambam, I am driving to Rockbridge Baths tomorrow morning. Meeting Mango at Short Pump Whole Foods (I-64 exit 178) at 8am to carpool.

Sounds good. Looks like the water level is holding amazingly well.

See you there,
