OCTs No Branch Potomac 24-25 AUG
Rev. Thurs. 22 Aug
See update from USACE below - final release volume and ramping details expected this week.
What this means for Coastals trips is that SAT 24 Aug. Barnum to Bloomington at 11 and SUN 25 Aug. Black Oak to Pinto at 10 are expected to go as planned.
Important: Those planning to paddle either trip should please contact me asap and no later than Thursday; please do not just show up. katherine.mull@gmail.com/8049296952
For the Sunday run: I will be in Pinto on Fri. to check t.o. conditions. We have permission to use the farm road. The owner says 4WD is needed and we will check in w/ him on Sunday. This t.o. involves a very steep private RR Xing, rough dirt road, and mud so the shuttle will have to be planned accordingly.
A CCA-coordinated Bloomington run on Sunday will be meeting at the t.o. at the water treatment plant in Bloomington very early in the a.m.. Please check CCA Trips and Events Calendar for details and contact info. to rsvp.

The following is an update on the water quality release scheduled for 24-25 August 2019 from Jennings Randolph Lake. Due to the need to conserve water quality storage within the lake to meet downstream water quality parameters, this event will be conducted with a release of 1,000 cfs from 10am on Saturday, August 24th to 10am on Sunday, August 25th. Ramping times and the post-event flow levels will be posted closer to the dates of the release.
The 2019 release schedule for Jennings Randolph Lake and Savage River Dam is available on the public website: http://www.nab-wc.usace.army.mil/nab/northBranch.html. Scroll down to find the recreational release schedule. This page also includes three day projections for daytime release rates for Jennings Randolph Lake and Savage River Dam

I'll be there for Barnum to Bloomington on Saturday 24 Aug, to meet at the TO at 11:00 AM unless I hear otherwise.
If anyone wants to ride with me from Charlottesville, I'll be leaving my home in Hollymead NLT 7:00 AM. If interested feel free to call or text me in advance.

Grateful for the gift of some serious fun ...
Jason -
The take out in Bloomington is at the water treatment plant off Owens Ave. (which becomes Race Street at the end).
There's a grassy area for parking and a port-o-potty and changing booth.
We'll be meeting there at 11 - I have a blue Forester and blue canoe.
The description of the run on AW's website seems pretty accurate.

Katherine,
Looking at the map more closely I did locate Owens Ave and Race St in Bloomington, MD. However this is not what AW has marked on the access page. I am just verifying that this is definitely the spot. It looks like Race St just dead ends. Which based on your description I believe that must be the location, but I do not see any water treatment facility on the map.
Also, this is a 3 hour drive for me. So I want to be certain I know where I am going so I don't hold up the group or miss the trip after driving that far. I live 30 min west of Lexington, VA. I have your phone number from your original post. If I need to call you, mine is 540-969-9207.
Thank you for your help and sorry if I am asking too many questions.
Respectfully,
Jason

Jason - Owens ending in Race St. is the location! Go to the end (it is a bit of a downhill at the end) and the grassy area to park will be on your left.

- AW may be showing the old location near the mouth of the Savage River.
