O.C.T. Howzabout Something class II/III along the Blue Ridge

Post by bambam »

The date is Saturday, June 8.

The fallback plan will be a run through Balcony Falls on the James. It's getting a little low but nothing like August-in-a-drought low.

I'm seeing forecasts showing storms headed our way of varying intensity over the next few days so maybe something might pop up?

Stay tuned if interested.

Cheers,

I'm interested. I've paddled Balcony Falls the last two weeks, but I am game for anywhere.

I'd like to join you, too, depending on time, etc. Thank you!

The weather is not cooperating all that well. For planning purposes let's think about Balcony, meeting at Glasgow at noon. We're expecting half an inch of rain today so the story might change. Be sure to check back here Saturday morning. I don't think half an inch of rain will change things but on the odd chance that the Maury comes up then we'll do either Indian Pool or below the post office.

Saturday is calling for a high of 71 with winds of 10 mph out of the east which is not what you want.

Stay tuned?

Balcony it is. Meet at the Glasgow put in at noon. It's only supposed to be in the low 70's as a high so bring a splash jacket or something. More rain is expected overnight so, yeah, check back here in the morning just in case. I think the wind forecast got better, like 5 mph. I expect a pleasant water level.

Cheers,

Ken
