From August 19-25 I made a reservation at Smoky Mountain Meadows near Bryson City, NC. This is the location of July's Carolina Canoe Club's Week of Rivers. This will be a class 2 and 2-3 trip on rivers like Nantahala and Tuckaseegee. SMM number is 828--488-3672.
From Nov. 25- December 1 I am camping at Blackwater River State Park in west Florida. I scoped it out yesterday. Blackwater River and its tribs Juniper Creek and Coldwater Creek have about ten sections that run through state forest. Big sand bars, sandy bottom river, clean water, remote, very pretty. Good bicycling and hiking there too.
Sites 7-14 are most private. Many are taken already. but the others are good too.
