Wallace's Week of Water, or How I Learned to Love the Gorge

Post by Wallace »

It's early, but some folks like to get ahead of this kind of thing.
Me and my raft are going to be at the New River Gorge from Friday, July 28th thru Friday, August 4th. I can take as many as 6 guests each day, and I'd like at least 3. Everyone has to be at least 12 years old, and anyone under 18 accompanied by a parent.
I'm doing this to get friends and family of my paddling buds out on the river to show them why we're so nuts for this stuff. I'd like to have some company, so feel free to join in whatever boat. Depending on response, I may need some more rubber.
First come, first served. I've got some interest from my neighbors, but no commitment yet.
I'll be camping at Ray's. I like IPAs.
If you have your own helmet and or PFD, please bring it. I have a few, but your own is always better. I have plenty of paddles.
We can arrange meeting times and places as the date gets closer. In the meantime CHECK OUT THIS SHUTTLE SERVICE .

I added this to the original post. "Everyone has to be at least 12 years old, and anyone under 18 accompanied by a parent."

I have trips booked every day from Friday 7/28 thru Monday 7/31. No one ever showed any interest in any of the other available dates, so I'm pulling the plug and going home on the Monday evening. No hard feelings, I'd just rather sleep in my bed. Maybe it'll grow for next year. :D

I'd also like to have some company on the river. If you're interested in running the gorge this weekend, please feel free to join us in whatever boat you prefer. I'll be using this shuttle service for the raft trip, but you can do your own thing. I plan to depart Fayette Station at 12 on Friday, and 11 Sat, Sun, & Mon. Come on out!!!
