OCT UPPER JAMES Saturday April 1 @ 11AM

Post by Dee P »

Plan on just foolin' around on the Upper James. A nice spring warm-up run. For novice paddler's or those who are just getting their boats out of winter storage and want to get back in the paddling groove. First timers welcome, but let me know who you are.
Plan to meet at Reedy Creek take-out by 11AM to set shuttle.

Richmond Traffic Alert for Saturday

Post by Katherine »

I hope to join you on Sat. although I will be coming from downtown after 10:30 and will have to find a way around the Monument Ave. 10K street closures and traffic.
For anyone who is coming from out of town, you will want to avoid the city on the north side of the James. Some mapping services take drivers from the west on I-64 to I-95 and then through town on Belvedere to the Lee Bridge with exit on Riverside for Reedy Creek. Belvedere will be ground zero for the race on Saturday, with the area of Monroe Park closed to traffic.

Amy and I will be there! We plan to continue on down the Lower if anyone wants to join us. Meeting some peeps at Reedy at 1:30 that only want to run the Lower so if you want to join us from there give me a shout.

If you are coming from the west on I 64, you can always get off on 195 and take it to Forest Hill exit. Left on Forest Hill all the way to 42nd st. Left on 42nd to Riverside, turn rt and follow the signs to Reedy Creek. No race problems.

Great trip Dee and that has to be a record or almost a record number of boats for an Upper trip. Thanks for doing it!
